155 And Counting

There will come a time, in the near future when my title will not rise. For now though, I will enjoy it in all its glory.

I cant even begin to comprehend how slow this month has been. I managed to match the sales in january from last year, so I was happy about that...considering the whole "recession" that supposedly is going on. And poor 100 mile being hit harder with the mills doing so bad...

then february rolls around. I was optimistic, as i had a couple sales in the first 2 days...and then BAM. nothing for 4 days. The one sale. Then BAM. nothing for SIX days. Then 2 small sales yesterday. It has been hell. the month is half gone, and Ive made 4 sales. FOUR. not even large ones. This will actually be a month where its not worthwhile to the company for the store to be open. There will be sales to cover the expenses. But not enough profit to cover the expenses.... Which once again, stirs up the worrysome thoughts about my job, and the store closing down...and the lack of other available jobs. *sigh* Makes me wish I had a job in something that didnt sell luxuries. Things people dont need. Things they can very easily do without, or not spend on. Not a good time to be a furniture salesman methinks.

It is another depressing day, in a so far depressing month, in a so far, depressing year. I was watching the fan590 radio sports show yesterday afternoon on sportsnet, and they had 2 female sports anchors on the show. Talking about all sorts of topics from past jobs, to whats on your PVR. They talked about dream jobs. and having jobs in the past, that they got up, went to work, came home. Didnt like the job. just did it because it was their job. Then they said screw this, im going to follow my dream. Work in the sports industry. Get on TV.
Follow your dreams.
What are my dreams? If I could have any job in the world, what would it be? I dont really know. I know I did really like running a dollar store. Planning everything out, ordering stock, going to trade shows, seeing all the new stuff. Orders arriving, tearing through boxes, merchandising it onto the shelves. I liked that. I did not like all the stress and headaches that came with it.

I also used to want to be a professional baseball player. I still think that would be very fun. I would love to do that.
Being a video game tester would be fun....stupid chumps at IGN who get to preview, play and review every single new game that comes out. "i played through final fantasy 12 for a 3rd time"

what??? how do you have time to do that? I dont even have time to get through it ONCE. Oh thats right. Your JOB is to just play video games all day long.

After seeing lots of articles, and reading a lot, i think owning a board game company would be great. Doing my own designs, as well as accepting designs from anyone else looking to get a game published.

Speaking of Board games, this week has been a much better week boardgame wise. 22 games played from feb 6th to feb 12th. Inclduing 4 plays of the 3 hour descent!!!
At game night we played caylus magna carta, followed by cosmic encounter. Im really liking cosmic encounter right now.
But it doesnt matter how much I spend on games, I cant seem to be satisfied with what I have. As long as im playing them, I will keep buying them I guess. If i stop being able to play all my games regularily, then I probably would significantly reduce the amount of money i spend on games in a month...

154 And Counting

Unlike the previous week, this week has been a very slow week for games. That makes me sad. Somehow I was convinced to play munchkin on game night. Not just any munchkin. SEVEN PLAYER munchkin. After an hour and a half, I just wanted to shootmyself. by then it was 7:30, and chris and anna left for home. Followed 5 mins later by kristina and her sister, and then Roxy, who had to go to the gym...??? On GAME night!!! sheesh!!!
so its 7:30 and only me and wheeler are left. Thank gosh for the hardcores. we played arkham horror, and we won. We fought back the evil minions of Yig, and sealed all the dimensional gates, before he could awaken from his slumber. Arkham is safe for another few hundred years.

and...thats about it. a whole week. TWO games played. Very lame. Very Lame indeed.

Last saturday, we were lucky enough to have a window in our house smashed out! yay! some crazy psycho 19 year old bitch girl who is, did I mention, psycho? The police tracked down the girl and her BF, whom we will call Ted. but they claimed they were at the bar. The police then said well...we cant really do anything. Its just "he said, she said"

In karmic news, however, last night, Ted's truck (the one we saw in our driveway that night) got smashed up, and windows smashed etc etc. they saw who did it and got the guys license plate, so they phoned the police. I guess they realized that this was the third time in the last week, they had talked to Ted, for 3 seperate incidents. so when they pulled the culprit over later, they just let him go. then they told Ted, "sorry. cant do anything. Its just he said, she said" :)
that was awesome. Thats what you get you dumb fucker.

Week 1 of february has been SLOOOWER than all hell slow at work. its very lame. very very lame. Makes me just want to close up and leave! REBEL!! take an hour lunch break every day! if no ones coming in anyways, who cares if im gone for an hour.....
